A.R. IVANOVICH,
Escape Artist

Picture
Photography by Anthology Studio, Santa Barbara

A. R. IVANOVICH enjoys being swallowed by forests, sleeping on lakes, and watching the sky. Her passion for writing about other worlds is accompanied by a love of artwork, video games, horseback riding, medieval weaponry, and the culinary perfection behind a well balanced plate of nachos. She was raised in Hawaii, where she once again resides, with her husband and their extensive family of rescue pets.

Occasionally, A.R. is a guest reviewer of table-top games!

Meet The Rescue Family
(Because animals have stories too!)

Lali

Picture
At 13 years of age, no one wanted to adopt Lali. Her previous owners moved to Florida, her craigslist ad cycled and recycled while she stayed at a cat hotel for nearly 5 months, that is, until we came along.

She is a very stately lady who can't be bothered by things like photographs or waking up in the daylight hours.

Luna

Picture
Luna was days away from death row at a high volume kill shelter. Her only crime was having not been adopted during her 3 month stay at the shelter. Luckily, we swooped in to the rescue.

Her mix is Dalmatian/Border Collie/Heeler, and she has the herding instincts and freckles to prove it!

Captain Fluffers

Picture
We found Captain as a tiny kitten in our 3 acre yard. He had been abandoned by his mother and was starving to death. It took us two tries, but we caught the little wild-cat and nursed him back to health.

As the man of the rescue family, you'd think he'd lord over the female kitties. To the contrary, he only has eyes for Luna.

Ember "The Spirit of Vengeance" September

Picture
Our household huntress, Ember, was adopted from the same high kill shelter as Luna. Since Lali is getting on in her years, we thought it would be important for Captain to have a friend around his age while he's young enough to bond.

At the shelter, Ember was described as, "Shy but sweet." I would alter that. "Sweet but murderous," is much more true to character.
